The BC Excluded Employees' Association is launching a professional development program in the first quarter of 2010. This is part of our new revitalized service offerings which are free to members as part of BCEEA membership privileges.
We are introducing these new services by offering a learning event, “Resiliency@work” on Thursday, January 28th, 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm (pacific time). Usually our professional development programs are offered to members only. However, we are opening up this first workshop, at no cost, to any BC Government excluded employee as an introduction to the BCEEA. So feel free to let your work colleagues know about this session.
Why is it that some people seem to rebound from setbacks quickly or emerge from very difficult work experiences looking fresh and eager for action? Why do others get caught in a stomach churning cycle of anger and stress or become bitter, discouraged and jaded? What about you? Most of us fall someplace in between these two extremes.
Times continue to be challenging in government with no foreseeable “break” on the horizon. Do you have a plan for how you are going to retain your sense of hope and positivity in the midst of further staff and budget reductions? Do you know how to marshal your own resilience so that you can thrive despite the negative swirl around you?
This session will introduce you to the basics of what comprises resiliency and how we can best react to adversity at work.
