Message from BCEEA President

Dear Colleagues — I am pleased and proud to introduce you to the BC Excluded Employees' Association's new brand identity. For the past few months, we have worked with Cathy McIntyre from Strategic Initiatives, to develop a brand strategy that will meet our members’ needs now and into the future. Now we’re ready to show you how far we’ve come. Like many other public and private organizations, BCEEA has faced membership challenges because of 'baby boomer' retirements. Our goal in rebranding the organization is to make it more relevant, accessible, and valuable as a resource – for all excluded employees.

Helping members achieve professional success in a strong, effective public service is our primary goal.  While we will continue supporting our members with information, personal advice, and other services they need to resolve work related issues; our efforts will be primarily focused on the creation of a province wide communication network that provides a vibrant link through the BCEEA to government and with each other.  Our purpose is to promote the sharing of information and ideas that can be used by excluded employees for their personal growth and for identifying opportunities we can share with government about “Being the Best”- now and well into the future.  We are looking forward to the energy and ideas new members will bring to the organization.

I invite you to visit www.bceea.bc.ca to see our 'new look' website.

Look for more changes in the coming months - we are working to simplify and restructure our membership fees; there are interesting workshops and events in the works; and we are exploring new ways of reaching out to each other more frequently, including this newsletter - Connections, which will provide you with up to date information on a regular basis.

If you are a member, welcome to your 'new' organization. Please help us spread the word about the value of membership to other excluded employees. And if you are an excluded employee who is not yet a member, please consider joining us. We know you’ll find your membership a valuable asset throughout your career with the public service.

Sincerely,

Mano Sandhu
