Your chance to make a difference.
Do you know how lucky you are? As an excluded employee, you have the support of the BCEEA, an organization dedicated solely to helping you succeed in your profession. You benefit from thirty years of efforts on your behalf – efforts that have made significant positive changes in your workplace. This is your chance to return the favour.
Together, we’re all stronger.
As excluded employees, we have common needs, common concerns and common responsibilities to one another. All excluded employees benefit from the work of the BCEEA, and it is important that we all do our part to ensure that this organization remains strong. Effective immediately, we are launching a ‘Season to appreciate members’ which will celebrate the contribution BCEEA members have made, both to the public service as a whole, and to this organization.
New opportunities, new focus, new membership.
The BCEEA is changing. Our recently completed strategic planning process has provided a roadmap for the future of our association, a future that will strongly focus on the professional success of all excluded employees – in all regions of the province. This is an ambitious change, one that requires a strong, vibrant membership. To that end, we are determined to increase the number of BCEEA members significantly. If you, and each of your fellow members persuade just one colleague to join, we will be well on our way to creating the kind of organization we envisage – one that plays a vital role in the professional success of all its members.
This is your chance to make a difference.
Soon a representative of the BCEEA Board of directors will be in touch with you. They will appeal to you to accept responsibility for personally contacting a group of non-members, most of who will live in your general work area. Your task will be to convince these colleagues to accept an information package, and seriously consider joining the BCEEA. Be sure to point out to them that, if they sign up before the end of March 2009, they will receive an 18 month membership for the price of 12, i.e. they will be entitled to a 1/3 reduction in their membership fees until September 2010. This truly is the best time for non-members to join our organization. Once you have their permission for us to send them information, we are asking you to forward their names and contact information to us, so we can send them all the details.
As a BCEEA member, you have a vested interest in the future of the BCEEA. We need your voice, your energy, and your support. We need you to become a strong advocate for the BCEEA and demonstrate your commitment by accepting the responsibility and challenge of reaching out to everyone on the list you receive and any other non-member colleagues you may know. Let them know about the benefits of membership– and ask them to help us build a strong, vibrant association for the future.
Special Note:
Your BCEEA Board of Directors is committed to reducing the price of BCEEA memberships. This can be done without reducing services, but only if it is done in lockstep with increases in membership. The BCEEA Board is hoping to recommend changes to the method of calculating fees and reducing the cost of memberships in April, at the next Annual General Meeting. The outcome of this membership drive will determine their ability to do this.
