The 2009 Scholarship winner is Charles Leitz of Victoria, BC.

His proud Dad is Peter Albert Leitz, Senior Manager, with Strategic Policy Development in Victoria.

Charles is a graduate of St. Michael’s University School in Victoria and will be attending the University of Victoria in September.  His goal is to pursue both a Bachelor of Science degree in honours physics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in honours philosophy within the next four years.  His long-term goal is to teach physics at a university and research.  His application letter clearly illustrates his field of interest with references to Issac Newton, Einstein, Stephen Hawking, etc.  In addition to his keen interest in math and philosophy, he is also an accomplished bassist including principal bassist for a recent concerto concert.

BCEEA is proud to announce him as this year’s successful recipient and wishes him well as he pursues his dreams.
